RATHDRUM, Idaho – A Rathdrum man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for assaulting his wife in front of their child.
According to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, the 38-year-old man beat his wife on Feb. 27 and a child in their home while he was already on probation for a separate crime committed in 2022.
He then violated a no-contact order imposed by the court by attempting to call his wife on March 3, leading to an additional criminal charge.
He will spend 20 years in jail with parole eligibility after seven years for felony battery in the presence of a child.
