COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – A Rathdrum man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16 years.
According to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, Andrew James Reed, 29, abused a young child between January and May 2024.
A Grand Jury indicted Reed in August, and he was sentenced on Dec. 30.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Molly Nivison recommended the 25-year sentence with parole eligibility after 10 years as part of a plea agreement that was entered after consultation with the victim’s family.
