Reptile Rescue for SCRAPS

If you are wondering whether an iguana can climb a tree, the answer is a resounding “yes.”  The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service (SCRAPS) received a call today to help get a stray iguana out of a tree in the Gonzaga University District.

The lizard was about fifteen feet up in the tree when the officer arrived. This particular animal had recently been injured with a piece of its tail missing and a cut on its “nose.”

It was brought to shelter and is now enjoying sunning itself while SCRAPS tries to locate its owner.   The owner can redeem their iguana at the shelter with proof of ownership.
