CHATTAROY, Wash. — A Riverside Elementary School paraeducator and high school coach was arrested for reportedly possessing and distributing child porn and engaging in sexual activity with two children.
Earlier this year, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified of a screen recording where two boys were engaging in sexually explicit content. According to the PC Affidavit, the screen recording shows the two boys engaging in a “sex act,” and the suspect’s face can clearly be seen answering the Snapchat call.
The Affidavit said the boys were estimated to be 9-11 years old.
Suspect Dallas M. Shuler, 28, was approached by police and the principal of Riverside Elementary School on May 7. During the interview, Shuler admitted to engaging with over 25 minors for immoral purposes.
The PC Avidatit said Shuler owned a “collection” of photos and videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit content. He would share these videos with other kids, promising an explicit video in exchange.
He said he would primarily initiate contact with minors through Instagram and many other social media platforms.
Shuler claims he never did anything inappropriate with a student and told police he took the job to “help the kids.” He then told police his employment with the school was a way to fulfill him after not being fulfilled as a child.
“That can mess up a kid’s life,” Shuler told police. “I would never take it that far.”
Shuler admitted he owned a second phone, and a search warrant was obtained for his laptop and cellular devices.
Investigators questioned Shuler again, where he admitted to having sexual contact with two boys around the age of 14.
He met both boys on Snapchat, claiming he was 22 years old. In both interactions, Shuler recorded the sexual exchange and admitted to distributing the videos.
Shuler was arrested on first-degree possession of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, first-degree dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
