SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to a house fire when the roof collapsed while attacking the fire.
Around 3 a.m. firefighters responded to the 17500 block of East Desmet Avenue with large flames coming from the roof of the house.
During the attack of the fire the roof collapsed near seven firefighters who managed to escape the incident uninjured.
The fire significantly damaged the home, and the Red Cross will be assisting the family with a temporary living situation.
The cause and factors into the fire are under investigation.
