Sandpoint man killed by speeding car on I-90 on Christmas night

EASTON, Wash. – A Sandpoint man was killed on Christmas after being hit by a car on I-90 that was going too fast.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the 35-year-old man was in a chain-up area on I-90 around 9:30 p.m. near Easton when a car in the westbound lane lost control and hit him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car that hit him was carrying three passengers and a driver, all from Seattle. None of them received injuries. Charges for the driver are currently pending.

Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash. The Washington State Patrol says the crash was caused by speeds too fast for conditions.
