SAGLE, Idaho — Selkirk Fire responded to a blaze that spread to multiple buildings and surrounding brush in Sagle.

According to Selkirk Fire Rescue and EMS, several agencies responded to the structure fire in the 100 block of Scheiders Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple buildings involved, with the fire extending into the vegetation. Known as the Scheider Fire, the blaze has burned approximately four acres of land.

By around 6 p.m., firefighters reported that two houses and two outbuildings had been destroyed. Selkirk Fire noted that erratic winds complicated firefighting efforts, but air tankers were able to drop retardant, which helped slow the fire’s spread. The vegetation fire is currently contained to less than four acres, according to fire crews.

The Idaho Department of Lands will become the primary agency as efforts continue to control the vegetation fire.
