OSBURN, Idaho — A crash on I-90 near Osburn sent a semi-truck into an elementary school’s baseball field Thursday afternoon.
According to Silver Hills Elementary School, around 2 p.m., a semi-truck and trailer traveling eastbound left the road, crashed through a chain-link fence and entered a drainage ditch. The truck then struck a retaining wall near the outfield fence of the school’s baseball field, located east of the school. The vehicle continued through several sections of the field’s fence before coming to a stop in center field.
The school said the drainage ditch helped control the truck’s direction, and no students were in danger. The driver suffered only minor injuries.
The school also confirmed that the damage from the crash will not affect the school’s regular schedule on Friday.
