WASHINGTON – Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell have announced over $33 million in federal funding for infrastructure projects across Washington State.

A significant portion of this funding, $2 million, is allocated to advance rapid bus transit service in Spokane. This funding will support the Division Street Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which aims to enhance the existing Route 25 service.

The project will introduce a new station and roadway modifications to provide faster, safer, and more reliable service. It will also increase the frequency of the bus service. Additionally, the project will intersect with the city line and include improvements to pedestrian and bicycle facilities, enhancing access to public transit.

The senators emphasize the importance of these upgrades in improving transportation infrastructure and public transit accessibility in Spokane.

Readers interested in more details about the Division Street BRT project or other funded projects can find additional information through local government resources.
