Sex offender was allegedly masturbating and following child before South Hill arrest

SPOKANE, Wash. – A man arrested made his first appearance in Spokane County court Monday.

Eric Gray, 28, is suspected by the Spokane Police Department of following young people while masturbating several times in recent months according to court documents.

He allegedly had a pattern of following women on a and is accused of a separate incident of tracking a woman on Aug. 12.

Gray was arrested on Friday after he purportedly followed a 15-year-old girl from about ten feet back while masturbating. Court documents describe sexually predatory behavior by Gray while he was following the girl.

“She saw the defendant was about ten feet away, had his hand down his pants, and was masturbating,” court documents said.

Gray was stopped by a Spokane police officer, who asked him a series of questions. The court documents claim that Gray said he had not masturbated in front of anyone that day, but that he was picked out of a lineup by a victim.

Gray is a previously convicted sex offender. He is facing additional charges of communication with a minor for immoral purposes and two counts of indecent exposure.
