Shooting in downtown Spokane yields no victims

SPOKANE, Wash. – A shooting yielded no victims in downtown Spokane Tuesday night.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), reports of yelling came before several rounds were heard and were called in to officers at the intersection of East Buckeye Avenue and North Stone Street.

When officers arrived, they found several shell casings but no blood, bullet holes or victims. While the incident is still being investigated, the SPD says that it could have been a case of an individual firing a gun in the air without the intent to shoot someone.

An ordinance currently being considered by Spokane’s City Council would make shooting a gun within city limits illegal and state law already prohibits shooting on roads or trails.
