KELLOGG, Idaho – The General Manager of Silver Mountain Resort has been selected as the president of Ski Idaho, the industry organization representing Idaho Ski Resorts.

According to Ski Idaho, Jeff Colburn has served as the general manager of Silver since 2006. As the business leader of Idaho’s alpine resorts, he plans to focus on the Gem State’s continued growth as an outdoor destination.

“Ski Idaho’s focus should remain on continuing to position Idaho as a ski destination with uncrowded slopes and a fantastic mix of big and small resorts,” Colburn said.

Colburn’s tenure at Silver has been marked by a focus on transforming the Kellogg mountain from a ski area to a full resort with a hotel and water park. He hinted at continuing this trend of diversifying resort offerings when announcing his new position at Ski Idaho.

“Idaho has a lot to offer the in-state and out-of-state skiing populations. There are also many challenges facing the ski business that we as an association need to continue seeking viable long-term solutions for so all can continue to enjoy the pristine mountains of Idaho,” Colburn said.

Colburn will continue to serve as Silver’s general manager will serving a four-year term as president.
