Snow and rain expected this weekend for western Montana

MONTANA – The weather in Montana remains calm this evening with cloud cover across the west and mild temperatures. Winds have been inactive and are not expected to bring any large wind events over the weekend. Today’s highs in the 30s are expected to be slightly warmer tomorrow.

There is a chance for snow overnight in areas such as Kalispell and Polson. From Saturday evening into Sunday, a more widespread band of precipitation is likely in the west. Missoulians may see rain showers on Saturday night, while Sunday could bring a better chance for snow.

The Kalispell area might experience heavy snow on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, the Hi-Line is forecasted to receive heavy rain.

Bozeman will have dry and mostly clear conditions as the Cats face the Vandals tomorrow evening. Tailgate temperatures in the low 40s are expected to drop into the upper 20s by the fourth quarter, so pack those extra layers in blue and gold!

Highs tomorrow are projected to reach the low 40s across much of the region. Over the next seven days, Montana can expect a dry spell with cloudy skies following this weekend’s precipitation. In the 8-14 days beyond, temperatures are projected to be above normal with drier conditions statewide. Several areas should prepare for a not-so-white Christmas.
