Social media fight sparks stabbing in Pullman

PULLMAN, Wash. – Pullman Police Department responded to a young man that was stabbed over what police say started as a fight on social media.

The fight between two men started at the Sunset Mart on Southeast Bishop Boulevard around 5 p.m. on Monday.

When police arrived, they found multiple people were fighting in a parking lot and one man was armed with a knife.

Police learned that the parties had known each other, and the dispute started on social media. Police did not detail what the dispute was about.

A 22-year-old was stabbed during the incident and was transported to the Pullman Regional Hospital and later air-lifted to Spokane for treatment.

Pullman police arrested Cesar Marmolejos, 38, on charges of first-degree assault and he was booked into Whitman County Jail in Colfax.

The condition of the 22-year-old is unknown at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
