SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Arts will host a Queer Art Walk downtown on June 7.

According to the Downtown Spokane Partnership, five downtown locations will showcase pieces made by LGBTQ+ artists, including Indaba Coffee Roasters, Entropy and the Gonzaga Urban Arts Center.

“Founded to promote visibility, understanding, and appreciation for queer art and artists, the Queer Art Walk spans galleries, cafes, community centers, and public spaces throughout Spokane,” the partnership said in a statement.

The pieces will highlight the Lilac City and the queer vibrant community that can be found in eastern Washington.

Spokane Pride is this weekend and will include additional security measures following several incidents of anti-LGBTQ+ vandalism.

Additional Pride events will take place across the Inland Northwest this June, including the first ever LGBTQ+ celebration in Bonners Ferry and the launch of the first statewide survey of the queer community across Washington state.
