SPOKANE, Wash. – Employees inside and around the Northtown Mall in north Spokane say they feel the area is generally safe after a shooting happened Sunday afternoon according to the Spokane Police.

Brad Linn, the General Manager of the Northtown Mall said that this is just the third gun related incident at the mall in the last 11 years.

This investigation is open and ongoing, and no suspect has been arrested in relation to this incident, Spokane Police said.

Jessica Neace has worked in the Northtown Mall for more than 20 years, and currently co-owns urban blends. She said she has never felt unsafe in or around the mall.

“We are right by the security office, we have good communication with those guys and we have great regulars so never any safety concerns and never even any safety concerns as far as the rest of the mall goes,” Neace said.

Spokane Police responded to a call of a shooting around 4pm yesterday. They say multiple cars not involved were hit with bullets. Police believe an argument between two groups of people that knew… Or knew *of each other could have led to shots being fired.

Spokane Police responded to a call of a shooting around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Multiple cars not involved were hit with bullets, and all bullets have been accounted for according to the police. Police believe a disagreement between two groups of people that knew or knew of each other could have led to shots being fired.

Neace said her employee and people in her business did not find out about the incident until a while after it had happened, and she is confident that her employees and customers are safe, she said.

“I’ve been here for 20 years, we’ve owned it for ten and I think twice we’ve had our tips stolen, and you will have the occasional wild teenager, but most of those aren’t actually an issue either,” Neace said.
