SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered city flags to fly at half-staff to remember the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack.
“On this solemn day, we remember the lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the resilience of a nation forever changed by the events of September 11,” said Brown. “We honor the memories of those who perished and remain united in our commitment to never forget their legacy.
The city will keep flags at half-staff until closing hours or sunset. The city encourages other Spokane residents and business owners to also fly their flags at half-staff in remembrance.
