SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane City Hall was locked down Monday afternoon due to a “security threat.”
A spokesperson for the City of Spokane said employees are allowed to leave if they choose and that Spokane police are on the scene to escort them out.
In the Spokane City Council’s livestream, the city council meeting has been moved to Thursday.
“The decision to cancel the City Council Legislative Session was made to ensure the safety and well-being of our lawmakers, staff, and the general public. The council is currently working actively with the Spokane Police Department to monitor the situation and ensure that all necessary precautions are taken moving forward,” the City of Spokane said in a press release.
This is a developing story, and more details will be provided as they become available.
