SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – Spokane County road crews are working hard to address icy road conditions by applying a mixture of sand and road salt after multiple crashes in the area.
Martha Lou from Spokane County shared that crews have been out for hours de-icing the roads, extending their efforts to unincorporated areas. The team is responsible for covering over 5,100 lane miles.
“We are doing what we can but if you are going to fast the sand won’t be able to stop you,” Lou said.
Spokane County is urging drivers to slow down and give crews extra space to work safely.
