ANTOINE PEAK, Wash. – Spokane County deputies arrested a multi-convicted felon and thief after several car break-ins were linked to him.

According to a press release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, on Sept. 15 at around 9 a.m., a woman’s car was broken into at Antoine Peak. The suspect allegedly stole her credit card and used it shortly after the bank notified her about fraudulent purchases.

Deputies reported that on Sept. 19 at approximately 9:45 p.m., another woman’s car was also broken into in the same area. This victim managed to take a photo of the suspect, leading investigators to identify him as Yuriy Siriy, 34, a convicted felon.

On Sept. 24, Spokane County detectives located Siriy and arrested him after establishing probable cause to charge him with the vehicle break-ins. He was booked on several counts, including second-degree identity theft, second-degree possession of stolen property, second-degree theft, and vehicle prowling.

The following day, Siriy appeared in Spokane County Superior Court, where his bail was set at $5,000. As of this release, Siriy remains in custody at Spokane County Jail.

Detectives from the Spokane County Investigative Unit will continue investigating the Antoine Peak break-ins, and additional charges and arrests are expected.
