Spokane County detectives investigate attempted ATM theft at First Interstate Bank

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane County’s Investigative Unit (SCIU) detectives are searching for the suspects involved in an attempted theft at First Interstate Bank that left extensive damage to an ATM.

On Jan. 7 around 3 a.m., First Interstate Bank surveillance video shows two men arriving in a black truck. One man attempted to use a cordless power saw to cut open an ATM and the other man stood as a lookout while wearing a “Halloween Scream-type” mask.

One of the suspects is described as a white man in his 20s.

Employees later mentioned that a second vehicle, a silver Mercedes sedan, was observed around the same time but is not known if it’s involved in the attempted theft.
