SPOKANE, Wash. – When a car crash requires emergency responders to extract someone from a car, Spokane County Fire District 9 uses a Tech Crew to get the job done. Rescue experts practiced lifting cars with chains and pulleys on Saturday.
According to the fire district, the rescue skills practice has real world implications, as unconventional techniques are sometimes required to get people out of crashed vehicles safely.
“During vehicle rescues, thinking outside the box is often required—or sometimes, you just have to build the entire box,” the fire district said via social media.
Fire District 9 has handled a variety of complex emergency scenarios in recent months.
