SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Fire District 9 firefighters quickly snuffed out a grass fire but found themselves in a real buzz when a swarm of bees joined the scene.
Early this morning, Spokane County Fire District 9 responded to a small grass fire off Waikiki Road. The blaze was quickly extinguished, and no significant damage was reported.
According to a Spokane County Fire District 9 spokesperson, the operation took an unexpected turn when the crew inadvertently disturbed a swarm of bees in the area. According to fire crews, a couple of firefighters were stung but are fine.
The spokesperson from the fire district added that it was one of their probationary firefighters’ first fires.
