SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of stealing a car Tuesday.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy patrolling Highway 2 recognized a Ford Escort from a previous stolen vehicle alert and pulled the car over.
The sheriff’s office says the deputy followed the car until the driver left the car and arrested the man, Nathanial Tekip, when he returned to the Escort.
According to the sheriff’s office, Tekip told deputies that he had received the vehicle from two women he knew and did not know it was stolen.
The owner of the Escort received the car from deputies and Tekip was released from Spokane County Jail after being charged with possession of a stolen car.
