SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office received training accreditation from the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs last week.
The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) awarded the certification, which is meant to provide a standard of best practices to which sheriff’s deputies and police officers adhere.
“I am extremely proud of the professionalism and dedication our Sheriff’s Office Deputies and staff continuously demonstrate while serving the Citizens of Spokane County,” said.
WASPC also which provides policymakers with a baseline of data about public safety across the Evergreen State.
The 2024 report noted an increase in anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-Black violence in Spokane while overall crime decreased compared to 2023.
