SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is set to incorporate artificial intelligence in reviewing footage from its body cameras.
A $945,000 grant will fund this initiative, which is part of a larger multi-million dollar grant aimed at addressing substance abuse and helping inmates avoid relapse after release.
The department currently operates over 260 body cameras. The primary goal of this AI integration is to enhance the department’s training in de-escalating situations.
