SPOKANE, Wash. – In celebration of International Credit Union Day, 19 credit unions have come together to sort clothing and food donations in Spokane.

The effort aims to support Inland Northwest Partners and help families in need.

Terry, from Partners in the Northwest, discussed the event, highlighting the contributions of the volunteers.

Volunteers will prepare approximately 900 boxes of food for low-income senior citizens in the region. Terry commented on the importance of this work.

“The work is incredibly important as you and I have already spoken. We have a very small team and we could not do this work or serve the need in this community.” added Terry.

Each dollar saved provides 10 meals for families, Terry explained. Additionally, as a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, they can purchase diapers at a discounted rate. “We’re able to leverage those dollars to pay 16 cents per diaper rather than having to purchase them at a retail rate,” Terry emphasized.

For those interested in helping, donations are needed to continue supporting families in the community.
