Spokane Democrats and Republicans selling merch ahead of November election

SPOKANE, Wash. – As Spokane voters prepare for an important November election that will involve a major US House race, a gubernatorial contest and will determine the occupant of the White House for the next four years, both county parties are selling merch.

Political merchandise is a staple of both local and national politics, as party-promoting apparel helps campaigns increase their visibility while receiving a financial boost.

Spokane Democrats are selling t-shirts, sweatshirts and mugs featuring the Democratic donkey. The word “vote” is printed on the items in several languages.

While the Democratic merch leans toward promoting party visibility on a general level, the Spokane County GOP offerings place an emphasis on former President Donald Trump.

The party sells shirts in a fundraising format in which supporters can purchase items within a limited window. A Republican elephant sporting Trump’s hair imposed over the word “vote” appears on the most recent county GOP merchandise.

The merch offerings are just part of a larger strategy to boost visibility in the months ahead of the election. As the election looms just a month away, both regional parties are ramping-up fundraising and get-out-the-vote efforts in the hope of an advantageous outcome in November.
