Spokane developer Ron Wells passes away

SPOKANE, Wash. -Spokane developer and architect Ron Wells passes away at the age of 75.

Wells was well-known for his work in historic building restoration in Spokane, including projects like the Steam Plant and the Ridpath.

Earlier in his life, he faced legal trouble after staging accidents and defrauding insurance companies out of roughly $6 million, as reported by the Spokesman.

He was charged with nine felonies and served a year-long house arrest.

Wells had been battling health problems since 2019 when he underwent bariatric surgery, but was said to be improving. He passed away on Sunday evening.
