Spokane Fire Department rescues woman from Riverfront Park rocks on 4th of July

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire Department rescued a woman who was reported on the rocks by the river’s edge in Riverfront Park on the 4th of July.

The SFD technical rescue team found a young woman near the north end of the Howard Street Bridge by the Spokane River.Around midnight, crews began working on a rescue plan and used the truck’s aerial device as a high-point anchor for a rope system. Crews were able to lower someone down who safely retrieved her.The woman was uninjured, and no medical intervention was necessary.
