Spokane Fire Department responds to gas leak at pet clinic

SPOKANE, Wash. — Firefighters from the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) responded to a reported gas leak.

According to an SFD spokesperson, employees at a pet clinic reported smelling isoflurane gas in the building on East Mission Avenue on Wednesday at around 8:30 p.m.

Firefighters initiated a hazmat response and conducted an investigation into the potential gas leak. While pets were inside at the time, firefighters successfully evacuated them. Firefighters said they are currently investigating the cause of the leak and expect to provide more information tomorrow morning. No injuries have been reported among employees or pets.
