SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire in the East Central neighborhood.
Friday. According to a firefighter at the scene, the Spokane Fire Department responded to the two-story home, where the blaze started in the attic. Firefighters had to breach the roof to extinguish the flames.
Authorities said the residents and their pets were able to evacuate safely, and there were no reported injuries.
East 5th Avenue between Altamont and South Stone Street will remain closed throughout the night. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
