Spokane firefighters respond to early morning blaze and save $700k in property

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire Department responded to a fire that allegedly started in a car and quickly spread to the garage and neighboring house.

Around 12:15 a.m. SFD responded to the 4600 block of North Royal Court where they found heavy fire that threated the home and the neighbor’s home.

Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines to tackle the main fire while other crews searched the residence, ventilated the structure, and ensured the fire did not spread.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the attached garage outside the houses.

The cause of the fire could not be confirmed but SPD says the damage is extensive reporting that two vehicles and a boat were lost, totaling an estimated $250,000.

SFD say that their swift reaction time saved property valued at over $700,000. There were no injuries in the incident and no occupants were displaced.
