SPOKANE, Wash. – The iconic Spokane Garland theater will be reopening under new ownership after a long closure.

The Garland Theater will be opening back up March 1, airing the Spokane tied movie Benny and Joon.

The new ownership is real estate developer and partner at 4 Degrees, Jordan Tampien. This comes after 24-years of previous ownership.

The Garland theater has been operating as a signature theater for many residents since 1945. Tampien hopes to maintain the historic importance of the theater and purchased it from Katherine Fritchie, who bought the theater in 1999.
