SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane International Airport has launched a big upgrade for the Inland Northwest Region with the completion of the Concourse C West Terminal Expansion. This significant development marks the halfway point of the first phase in the Terminal Renovation and Expansion (TREX) Program.

The expansion introduces three new gates, six additional ticketing counters and a host of passenger-centric amenities to the existing C Concourse. The project is a key component of the airport’s comprehensive TREX Program, aimed at modernizing and expanding the facility over several years.

Several elected officials and representatives from Alaska Airlines were among those present at the formal unveiling ceremony on Thursday. They joined forces to celebrate this milestone and its potential to foster economic growth within the Spokane community.

Ezra Eckhardt, Spokane Airport board chair, emphasized the project’s economic impact.

“We’re creating new economic opportunities for the Spokane community,” Eckhardt said. “By 2030, we anticipate over 6.2 million passengers annually, and this expansion enhances our ability to support this growth and further integrate Spokane into the global economy.”

The west expansion features improved access for passengers with disabilities, regionally sourced features, a nursing mother’s room, smart windows and an open-air plaza.

The next phase, the Concourse C East Expansion, is set to start soon, focusing on upgrading boarding gates and aligning them with the terminal’s new aesthetic. Completion of the entire TREX Program is slated for late 2025.
