SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown and other community leaders attended the grand opening of the Children of the Sun Trail.
Mayor Brown expressed her excitement about the trail opening in a tweet, stating, “This trail honors our past and celebrates our future. Thanks to all who helped make this possible.”
The trail currently ends near the Hillyard neighborhood along East Columbia Avenue and will eventually extend an additional two miles to East Euclid Avenue. This new section of the trail aims to connect with the Centennial Trail along the Spokane River and the Spokane Community College campus.
