SPOKANE, Wash. – A man accused of stabbing and killing his father is undergoing a competency evaluation to determine if he can stand trial.
The competency review for 38-year-old Damien Eiffert was filed earlier this month. Eiffert was arrested on October 23, 2024, a day after his father was found dead at his apartment complex with several stab wounds.
Eiffert reportedly drove away in his father’s car and was found asleep in the car the next morning on I-90. NonStop Local interviewed Eiffert the day after his arrest.
During the interview Eiffert claimed he didn’t commit the crime.
Eiffert is scheduled to appear in court next on January 3, 2024.
