SPOKANE, Wash. – Joshua Rudolph was arrested on March 8 for allegedly stabbing a woman, who lost so much blood that medical personnel say she would have died if law enforcement had not responded quickly.

According to the Spokane Police Department, a woman was found by police after a 911 call said that someone was losing blood in a remote area by the railway tracks in the East Central neighborhood.

The woman had lost a great deal of blood and had facial injuries. Officers arrested Rudolph after reportedly finding a knife covered in blood near the scene.

Rudolph was hospitalized for an unrelated issue after being detained by officers. He was moved to Spokane County Jail on March 11 and was released after appearing in court on March 12.

Law enforcement states that the woman would have died if a tourniquet had not been administered immediately by responding officers.
