SPOKANE, Wash. — A man arrested for robbing three banks in Spokane has pleaded guilty in a federal court.

Dustin T. Perrin, 35, admitted to three counts of bank robbery in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. The charges stem from robberies committed between .

According to court documents, Perrin pleaded guilty to robbing First Interstate Bank on Oct. 13, Numerica Credit Union on Nov. 17, and Washington Trust Bank on Jan. 22. Each robbery involved a threat of violence, and in the Washington Trust Bank incident, Perrin claimed to have a firearm.

Under the plea agreement, Perrin faces a maximum prison sentence of up to 60 years. However, the agreement includes a recommendation for a sentence between 76 months (about six years and four months) and 96 months (eight years). This range is contingent on the court’s approval, and either side may withdraw from the agreement if the final sentence falls outside that range.

In addition to prison time, Perrin may face fines, restitution, and three years of supervised release following his sentence. The terms also include drug testing and mental health treatment.

DNA evidence, including a match from a robbery note at First Interstate Bank, linked Perrin to the crimes. Surveillance footage and forensic evidence also helped identify him as the suspect in the other robberies.

The charges involve financial institutions insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), which are necessary for federal bank robbery charges.

Perrin’s sentencing is set for a later date. The court will consider the U.S. Probation Office’s presentence report before issuing a final judgment and has the discretion to accept or reject the plea agreement’s terms.

While Perrin’s guilty plea resolves his involvement in these specific robberies, he may still face additional federal charges or violations related to his actions during the commission of these crimes, according to the plea agreement.

His sentencing is set for Feb. 11, 2025, in Spokane.
