SPOKANE, Wash. – 22 year old Cody Low was arrested early Wednesday morning for murder in the second degree.

Low found 53 year old Willie Anderson sleeping in his mothers closet and police say he told Anderson to get out of his apartment, according to court documents.

However, Anderson did not break into the apartment according to the court judge.

“Mr Anderson had permission to be in that apartment,” the judge said.

Anderson was invited in by Low’s mother, but she left shortly after Anderson entered through the window. Anderson was there to attempt to get back together with Low’s mother Christa White. He had slept in White’s car on occasion until the car was repossessed, according to White.

When Low found Anderson sleeping in his mothers closet, he ordered him out at gunpoint. Anderson made a quick move and low fired one time. The shot hit Willie Anderson in the lower right abdomen and killed him, court documents said.

Low called the police and put the gun on the kitchen counter, and was fully compliant with officers once they arrived, the court documents said.

Three witnesses spoke in support of Low today, including Krista Bowen, a family friend who stood up for Cody’s character…

“If you would have told me yesterday that this is what we were going to be doing today, I would have said absolutely not. Cody is not this person, he is not a killer,” Bowen said.

The judge in the case however, stated that Low was alleged of a serious crime with serious features.

“You had indicated that it was your intention to pull the trigger, and you also indicated to officers that Mr. Anderson never threatened or harmed you,” the judge said.

Low’s bond was set at $100,000, much lower than the $1 million that the prosecution originally asked for. His arraignment date is on February 6th. When we get an update from the arraignment, we will bring it to you here at NonstopLocal.com
