SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department offered new details on Thursday regarding a 2022 police shooting which left 41-year-old Robert Bradley dead. All officers involved in the incident have been cleared of wrong-doing. Capt. Tracie Meidl lead a press conference giving a timeline on on what police claim happened leading up to the incident after a neighbor said Bradley threatened his family with a firearm.Rondi Thorp of Meyer Thorp Law, which represents Bradley’s Estate, sent NonStop Local a statement that the Spokane Police Department did not notify the family or its representatives of Thursday’s press conference.After learning of the press conference Meyer Thorp Law sent a representative to appear today, but the Spokane Police Department did not allow them to enter the conference. During the conference, Meidl said that officers arrived to deliver a temporary protection order and prepared to serve it to Bradley and take his weapons.Officers called ahead, but Bradley did not answer. Around 6:30pm Bradley’s neighbor called back to say he was now home.Officers went to make contact with Bradley while he was in his truck, then officers say Bradley moved his hand to his hip.Officers fired. The initial barrage hit Bradley and he fell to the ground. He then reportedly reached for what investigators believed was his gun which had fallen under the van.According to the investigation results into the incident, an officer shot out another quick volley of rounds and seconds later put Bradley in handcuffs. Bradley later died due to his injuries in the hospital.
