Spokane police respond to stabbing near downtown, suspect barricaded in house

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire and Police Departments responded to a stabbing at a West 6th Avenue home Saturday morning.

According to the Spokane Fire Department, the stabbing was called in to law enforcement around 9:45 a.m., and a suspect then barricaded themselves in a home near where the violence took place.

As of 10:20 a.m., the suspect is still barricaded in the home. The fire department advises that the area around the intersection of West 6th Avenue and South Ash Street be avoided until the incident is resolved.
