SPOKANE, Wash. — Police are searching for a person reportedly responsible for shooting a man in a Spokane neighborhood.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 1100 block of West Augusta Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The victim called 911 himself, reporting that his mother’s boyfriend had shot him. Officers provided medical aid until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, SPD learned that a witness had heard an argument between two people at the house. The suspect is said to have fled in a truck immediately after the shooting. While police later located the truck, the suspect was not found inside.

The truck was seized for evidence, and the suspect remains at large. Officers have developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for First Degree Assault Domestic Violence and First Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
