SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department is searching for the suspect who they say intentionally drove into a patrol car and oncoming traffic on Saturday.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), they responded to the area of 1000 East Sinto Avenue for a trespassing incident on April 6 at 12:25 p.m. SPD said when they arrived at the scene and activated their emergency lights, an unknown person left the vehicle and another man got in the driver’s seat.

SPD said the driver revved the engine and drove into the patrol car.

According to SPD, the suspect also struck a concrete wall before driving into oncoming traffic. A short pursuit was initiated but quickly called off due to his dangerous driving actions.

SPD confirmed the suspect’s car was found in Mead but was abandoned.

Ryan P. Todd, 27, is wanted for second-degree assault, attempting to elude a police vehicle and first-degree degree malicious mischief. SPD said Todd has an extensive criminal history with prior felony convictions for eluding a police vehicle and third-degree assault.

If you have information on Todd’s whereabouts, please contact the tip line at 509 242-TIPS (8477) or SPDtipline@spokanepolice.org and reference 2024-20064318.
