Spokane police seek public help to find suspect who stole tiny home

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department (SPD) is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect who was caught on camera stealing a tiny home.

According to SPD, on August 12 at approximately 1:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of theft at 1900 East Francis Avenue. A person reported that her tiny home had been stolen from a storage facility. Security footage shows a suspect in a hoodie gaining access to the facility by cutting through the fence.

The footage then shows the suspect backing up a truck, similar to a GMC 1500, to a tiny home stored on a trailer within the fenced lot and hooking it up to the vehicle. Police said the suspect damaged the gate to open it before driving out of the parking lot with the tiny home in tow.

Police said that if the suspect is located, they have probable cause to arrest them for second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, and third-degree malicious mischief.
