Spokane police seek suspect in downtown shooting incident

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police are seeking a suspect in connection with a downtown shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), on Aug. 13, just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Second Avenue and Division Street. Upon arrival, they learned that the gunshot victim had sought refuge in a nearby apartment and had sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.

Police stated that the victim provided limited information, mentioning only that he had been involved in a fight with two people before the shooting. The victim reported that the suspect fired the gun twice, but he was hit only once. Officers helped the victim tend to his wound until medics arrived.

Witnesses reported hearing the altercation and gunshots before two unidentified individuals fled the scene in a pickup truck. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
