Spokane records only 25 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, following Governor's announcement to move east region to phase 2

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) reports only 25 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Spokane on Thursday. This is the lowest daily new-case total in 2021.

This news comes minutes after Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced that the eastern region of the state will be moving to phase 2, following two weeks of cases trending down.

There is currently 35,801 total COVID-19 cases in Spokane since the beginning of this pandemic and 544 deaths.

All regions in Washington are now moving into phase 2 except for the east central region, including counties like Yakima, Benton, and Walla Walla. For more information on the announcement to move into phase 2, click here.
