SPOKANE, Wash. – Two local schools remain open Wednesday after being evacuated due to the Grove fire on Tuesday afternoon.

An 85-acre fire prompted a Level 3 (Go Now!) evacuation for many living near Geiger Heights, including two schools: Windsor Elementary and Westwood Middle School.

School officials announced that the schools would be open Wednesday after the evacuation level was brought down to a Level 2 (Be Ready) around 9:30 p.m. last night.

The fire is now 100% lined, with crews still working on containing it.

The cause of the fire is unknown, and no injuries are reported at this time.
