SPOKANE, Wash. – Starbucks baristas at the Shadle Center location in Spokane are back to work following a nationwide strike.
The strike, which focused on issues such as , concluded recently, allowing operations to return to normal.
Earlier this week, on Tuesday, workers at this Starbucks location were seen striking outside. However, staff now confirm that the strike has ended, and customers will not have to cross a picket line to get their coffee.
The timing of the strike was strategic as staff say the strike was intentionally timed at the end of a quarter because they wanted to have a high impact.
The end of the quarter coincided with Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, which is why workers have returned to their jobs today.
As for the negotiations, there is no update on the status of discussions or whether any changes have been made regarding the workers’ concerns.
Staff at the Shadle Center location mentioned they are unable to comment without their union representative. They provided a media line, but there has been no response yet.
Efforts to confirm the end of the strike with the union office in New York were met with an automated response indicating the office is closed from Christmas Day through Jan. 1. This aligns with information from staff about the strike’s timing.
For now, operations at the Shadle Center Starbucks are back to normal, and customers can enjoy their coffee without disruption.
