SPOKANE, Wash. — A student was arrested Wednesday after bringing an airsoft-style handgun to school.
According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), school officials notified authorities around noon that a student was reportedly in possession of a gun. Police quickly responded and launched an investigation, which led to the detention of two students. Officers discovered that one of the students was carrying an airsoft-style handgun.
The student was arrested for possession a weapon on school grounds and was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center, according to SPD.
SPD has not disclosed the name of the school involved. Police are urging community members to report any school safety concerns to 911.
